The Truth about Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Thank you for reading my blog. Follow me on Twitter (@Brad_Palubicki) and check out my Youtube channel.

When it comes to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), there has always been a wide range of approaches and opinions. Some people believe that age-related low testosterone (Low-T) is a natural part of aging and doesn’t need to be treated. Others use testosterone excessively in order to build muscle or gain extraordinary physical stamina.

As with many things in life, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Testosterone plays a major part in a variety of bodily functions, including maintaining bone density, muscle mass, as well as proper functioning of internal organs and the brain. Almost every organ in our body has testosterone receptors.

Doctors have long realized the important role testosterone plays in our health. According to a recent study, a whopping 40 percent of men over 45 have been found to have low testosterone. And men with chronic Low-T become more prone to various health complications as they age.

For decades, testosterone replacement therapy has been used as a preferred method of treating Low-T, but in recent years, many men with normal testosterone levels began to use TRT in order to boost their libido and increase vitality. As a result TRT’s increasing popularity, various testosterone supplements of questionable quality flooded the consumer market. Many men use these products without any doctor supervision, which sometimes results in unforeseen health complications.

This improper use of TRT has become the main source of the controversy surrounding testosterone. The truth, however, is that while testosterone therapy certainly helps men with Low-T, it can also bear negative consequences when administered without close supervision by a qualified specialist. This is why it is very important to approach TRT responsibly and always with the help of a trusted medical professional.
